Techstars is the global network helping entrepreneurs succeed through accelerator programs, mentorship, funding, and resources. This year, they announced their newest track, the Techstars Impact Accelerator and we caught up with Zoe Schlag, Managing Director to get the full story on how they are changing the impact investment landscape.
In launching the inaugural Impact class, they focused on finding entrepreneurs who were creating a competitive advantage and working to drive better business outcomes. The program backs mission-driven founders building technologies that solve social and environmental problems. The main criteria when selecting one of these for-profit social startups is the “Founder problem fit”. This differentiates the Techstars selection criteria and guarantees that the founder remains motivated to both the company and cause.
